I am
starting an experimental research group in Pupin Hall in January
2009. The research focus will involve electrical measurements of
the properties of quantum materials. We will develop some
experimental tools for this purpose - in particular, high performance
scanning probe microscopes for atomic-scale spectroscopic measurements.
We will also use lithographic techniques to make electrical contact to
new materials. The materials we will study (crystals and molecules) will be obtained
from collaborators at Columbia and elsewhere.
