Background

This is the second in a series of workshops on "Intersections of AdS Strings with Nuclear Beams at RHIC and LHC" hosted jointly by the BCSY (BNL-Columbia-SUNY-Yale) heavy ion physics groups.

The first workshop in this series, held on 2/24/06 at Columbia, was on "Dissipation in the 'Perfect sQGP Fluid'" .

The second will focus on energy loss in quark gluon plasmas from AdS/CFT versus QCD perspectives.

We hope this will be another well attended workshop hosted by Columbia. As it is a local meeting we regretfully cannot cover transportation or meal expenses.
